Brahmaputra river :-The life line of northeast and one of the biggest river in the world with huge volume called brahmaputra originates from the Chemayungdung Glacier south of the mansarovar lake in the kailash range.

1. Brahmaputra is one the longest river of the wolrd with regard to the volume of water
2. It's drainage system spread in the three countries:-CHINA(tibet), INDIA,BANGLADESH.
3. Inthe tibet it is known as tsongpo , meaning the purifier.
4. tsangpo is known as Dihang or siang in Arrunachal pradesh.
5. Brahmaputra forms a complex course , where there are large riverine island . Among these,Majuli is the largest riverine island in the world.
6.  Brahmaputra, in bangladesh  called jammuna.
7.  Right Tributaries of brahmaputra are shubanshiri, kameng, manas, sankosh.
8.  Left Tributaries of brahmaputra are dhanshiri, kalang, kheri.
